Brief description: The teachings, pre-recorded by Thrangu Media at Thrangu Tashi Yangtse monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal, are given in English.
Event details: This course of short teachings is given for seekers of all backgrounds looking for an engaging and straightforward introduction and guide to the Vajrayana (Diamond Vehicle). The four teachings focus on the following important themes:
Death and Mortality: In the Vajrayana teachings, death is not thought of as a taboo subject to be avoided. It is a basic fact of life to be confronted and considered from the outset. In this first teaching, Choje Lama offers an overview of the Vajrayana perspective on death and dying.
The ‘Three Poisons’ and Worldly Success: The ‘Three Poisons’ of attachment, aversion, and the misunderstanding of the nature of reality, have long driven cultural perspectives on material success and status. How can we navigate society and our careers while working to transform and purify the ‘Three Poisons’?
Visualization Practice: Visualization is a key component of Vajrayana practices. The practice of visualization requires authoritative guidance from the beginning. In this teaching, Choje Lama discusses the core principles of visualization in Vajrayana practices.
Who is Buddha: Choje Lama reveals what it means to become a Buddha, a true enlightened one. Outside, in the beautiful grounds of Thrangu Tashi Yangtse Monastery, Choje Lama ends the series of teachings with a warm, incisive, and insightful discussion.
